Cyber Security SOC Support Analyst
Our client is an award-winning Managed Service Provider (MSP), delivering tailored IT and Cyber Security services to a growing portfolio of clients across London. With an expanding Cyber Security function and a strong reputation for customer service, they offer an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in security operations.
They’re now looking for a Cyber Security SOC Support Analyst to join the front line of their cyber defence operations. You’ll be the first point of contact for security alerts — analysing, triaging, escalating, and helping mitigate threats in a fast-paced, service-focused environment.
This is a great opportunity for someone with Tier 1 SOC experience who thrives in a collaborative, client-facing setting and wants to build their skills in a supportive and growing security team.
The Role
As a Cyber Security SOC Support Analyst you’ll be part of a close-knit Security Operations Centre, responsible for identifying, responding to and escalating cyber security incidents. You’ll manage inbound alerts and support tickets, assess the severity of threats, and ensure effective communication with both internal teams and clients.
Over time, you’ll deepen your technical skills, gain exposure to threat hunting and analysis, and progress towards more advanced responsibilities within the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Triaging and responding to cyber security alerts and support tickets
- Categorising and prioritising threats, identifying false positives and escalating urgent incidents
- Following defined playbooks for incident response and escalating as needed
- Communicating clearly with clients and internal teams throughout the incident lifecycle
- Acting as the single point of contact for third-party suppliers during incidents
- Supporting the wider team with threat intelligence and incident analysis
- Ensuring a customer-first approach across all ticket handling and support
What You’ll Bring
- Previous experience in a SOC Analyst or similar support role
- Experience working in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) or fast-paced IT services environment
- Familiarity with Microsoft Defender XDR, Microsoft Sentinel (SIEM), and Microsoft security tools
- Understanding of M365 cloud security and the modern threat landscape
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills
- A positive, proactive approach and the ability to stay calm under pressure
- Comfortable working in a shift pattern and meeting service level expectations
Desirable Certifications
If not already held, support will be given to achieve:
- SC-200: Microsoft Certified – Security Operations Analyst Associate
- SC-900: Microsoft Certified – Security, Compliance and Identity Fundamentals
What’s on Offer
- £30,000 – £35,000 salary depending on experience
- Fully funded exams and training related to your role
- 5 days on site for the first 6 months, then hybrid (2 days remote per week)
- A sociable, supportive team environment within a growing cyber practice
- Real progression opportunities as the team expands
- Excellent benefits package including holiday, pension and more
