Avoiding the wrong hire and the value of your recruitment partner

One of the real valuable measures of a recruitment partner isn’t just how quickly they can fill a role; it’s how well they help you avoid making a wrong hire. Because the wrong hire is one of the most damaging results from a recruitment process, it’s not good for the candidate, it loses productivity, wasted onboarding time, team disruption let alone the cost of starting again.

So how do you measure whether your partner is doing everything possible to reduce that risk and adding value?

Are they:

✴️ Mapping the whole market so you see the full picture in the search, not just the quickest candidates to source?

✴️ Giving you thorough pre-screening: Are you getting candidates who have had detailed conversations with the recruiter, meaningful conversations that deeply understand the candidates’ motivations, communication style, leadership preferences, technical ability and ways of working?

✴️ Are you getting transparent insight throughout the recruitment process? Detailed candidate summaries, discussions around their suitability, informal references, reputation and known achievements so you can make an informed decision?

✴️ Is your recruitment partner balancing speed with proper due diligence from the start, ensuring only the right, engaged talent reaches you and not the quickest to source or those only in their network?
